CVE-2026-89758 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-13 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mempolicy: skip non-present PMDs when queueing folios Patch series "mm: handle device-private PMDs in walk callbacks", v3. Since commit 368076f52ebe ("mm/huge_memory: add device-private THP support to PMD operations") a PMD may hold a device-private swap entry whenever an HMM-based GPU driver migrates an anonymous THP folio to device memory via migrate_vma_pages(). pmd_trans_huge_lock() succeeds for such PMDs (pmd_is_huge() returns true for any non-present, non-none huge PMD), so several MM walk callbacks that used to assume present THP or migration entry are now reachable with a device-private PMD. The results range from a VM_BUG_ON() firing on debug kernels, to an oops on a bogus vmemmap dereference, to silently isolating an unrelated live folio from LRU in the aliasing case. This patch (of 3): queue_folios_pmd() is called under pmd_trans_huge_lock(), whose pmd_is_huge() check returns true for any non-present, non-none PMD softleaf. Passing such a PMD to pmd_folio() treats the softleaf encoding as a hardware PFN and can return a bogus folio pointer. Mirror queue_folios_pte_range(): handle non-present entries before looking up a folio. Keep migration entries counted as failures, but skip other non-present PMDs such as device-private entries. Potential trigger: an HMM-based GPU driver migrates an anonymous THP folio to device memory via migrate_vma_pages(), leaving a device-private PMD. Userspace then calls mbind(), migrate_pages() or set_mempolicy_home_node() on that range.
CVE-2026-89505 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/uverbs: Guard legacy bundles without method_elm The legacy write() path dispatches through a uverbs_api_write_method, but the uverbs_attr_bundle passed to provider code does not have an ioctl method element. If malformed provider input causes the common uverbs validation code to emit an error message, uverbs_get_handler_fn() dereferences the uninitialized method_elm pointer. Initialize method_elm explicitly for legacy bundles and make uverbs_get_handler_fn() return NULL when no ioctl method is present. The legacy dispatcher continues to use its local write method, while the ioctl path continues to use the registered ioctl handler.
CVE-2026-80956 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-11 4.4 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm-pcache: only hand out initialized cache segments get_cache_segment() scans the segment map up to cache->n_segs, the physical device segment count, but cache_segs_init() only initializes the first cache_info->n_segs segments. A crafted image with cache_info->n_segs smaller than the device count leaves the remaining pcache_cache_segment structs zeroed (segment.data == NULL), and the allocator can hand one to cache_kset_close(), which writes through the returned segment's data pointer with no NULL check. Bound the allocator's search to cache_info->n_segs so only initialized segments are ever returned. A conforming cache sets n_segs equal to the device segment count, so this rejects nothing legitimate.
CVE-2026-45736 2 Websockets, Ws Project 2 Ws, Ws 2026-09-11 4.4 Medium
ws is an open source WebSocket client and server for Node.js. Prior to 8.20.1, the websocket.close() implementation is vulnerable to uninitialized memory disclosure when a TypedArray is passed as the reason argument. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.20.1.

CVE-2026-64413 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: ebtables: zero chainstack array sashiko reports: looking at ebtables table translation, could a sparse cpu_possible_mask lead to an uninitialized pointer free? If cpu_possible_mask is sparse (for example, CPU 0 and CPU 2 are possible, but CPU 1 is not), the allocation loop skips CPU 1. If vmalloc_node() fails at CPU 2, the cleanup loop will blindly decrement and call vfree() on newinfo->chainstack[1]. Not a real-world bug, such allocation isn't expected to fail in the first place.
CVE-2026-53400 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: core: fix adapter registration race Adapters can be looked up based on their id using i2c_get_adapter() which takes a reference to the embedded struct device. Make sure that the adapter (including its struct device) has been initialised before adding it to the IDR to avoid accessing uninitialised data which could, for example, lead to NULL-pointer dereferences or use-after-free. Note that the i2c-dev chardev, which is registered from a bus notifier, currently uses i2c_get_adapter() so the adapter needs to be added to the IDR before registration.
CVE-2026-53218 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_exthdr: fix register tracking for F_PRESENT flag nft_exthdr_init() passes user-controlled priv->len to nft_parse_register_store(), which marks that many bytes in the register bitmap as initialized. However, when NFT_EXTHDR_F_PRESENT is set, the eval paths write only 1 byte (nft_reg_store8) or 4 bytes (*dest = 0 on TCP/DCCP error path). When len > 4, registers beyond the first are never written, retaining uninitialized stack data from nft_regs. Bail out if userspace requests too much data when F_PRESENT is set.
CVE-2026-53134 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-08 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_fib: fix stale stack leak via the OIFNAME register For NFT_FIB_RESULT_OIFNAME the destination register is declared with len = IFNAMSIZ (four 32-bit registers), but on the lookup-fail, RTN_LOCAL and oif-mismatch paths nft_fib{4,6}_eval() only writes one register via "*dest = 0". The remaining three registers are left as whatever was on the stack in nft_do_chain()'s struct nft_regs, and a downstream expression that loads the register span can leak that uninitialised kernel stack to userspace. The NFTA_FIB_F_PRESENT existence check has the same shape: it is only meaningful for NFT_FIB_RESULT_OIF, yet it was accepted for any result type while the eval stores a single byte via nft_reg_store8(), leaving the rest of the declared span stale. Fix both: - replace the bare "*dest = 0" in the eval with nft_fib_store_result(), which strscpy_pad()s the whole IFNAMSIZ for OIFNAME (and is already used on the other early-return path), and - restrict NFTA_FIB_F_PRESENT to NFT_FIB_RESULT_OIF and declare its destination as a single u8, so the marked span matches the one byte the eval writes.
CVE-2026-64368 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-04 8.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/slab: do not limit zeroing to orig_size when only red zoning is enabled When init (zeroing) on allocation is requested, for kmalloc() we generally have to zero the full object size even if a smaller size is requested, in order to provide krealloc()'s __GFP_ZERO guarantees. But if we track the requested size, krealloc() uses that information to do the right thing, so we can zero only the requested size. With red zoning also enabled, any extra size became part of the red zone, so it must not be zeroed and thus we must zero only the requested size. However the current check is imprecise, and will trigger also when only SLAB_RED_ZONE is enabled without SLAB_STORE_USER (which enables tracking the requested size). This means enabling red zoning alone can compromise krealloc()'s __GFP_ZERO contract. Fix this by using slub_debug_orig_size() instead, which is the exact check for whether the requested size is tracked. We don't need to care if red zoning is also enabled or not. Also update and expand the comment accordingly.
CVE-2026-64082 1 Linux 2 Kernel, Linux Kernel 2026-09-03 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv: Fix register corruption from uninitialized cregs on error compat_riscv_gpr_set() calls cregs_to_regs() unconditionally, even when user_regset_copyin() fails. Since cregs is an uninitialized stack variable, a copyin failure causes uninitialized stack data to be written into the target task's pt_regs, corrupting its register state and potentially leaking kernel stack contents. compat_restore_sigcontext() has the same issue: it calls cregs_to_regs() even when __copy_from_user() fails, leading to the same corruption of the signal-returning task's register state on error. Only call cregs_to_regs() when the user copy succeeds.
CVE-2026-84326 1 Google 1 Chrome 2026-09-03 8.8 High
Uninitialized resource in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.75 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
CVE-2026-64083 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-03 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (pmbus/adm1266) reject short block-read responses in the GPIO accessors adm1266_gpio_get() and adm1266_gpio_get_multiple() both compose the pin-status word as pins_status = read_buf[0] + (read_buf[1] << 8); right after i2c_smbus_read_block_data(), guarding only against an error return. A well-behaved device returns 2 bytes for GPIO_STATUS/PDIO_STATUS, but the helper happily reports a 0- or 1-byte response too. If the device returns 0 bytes, both read_buf slots are uninitialized stack memory; if it returns 1 byte, read_buf[1] is. The composed value then flows through set_bit() into the caller's *bits in adm1266_gpio_get_multiple(), or into the return value of adm1266_gpio_get(), and ends up in userspace via gpiolib (sysfs and the char-dev ioctls). That leaks a few bits of kernel stack per request on any device whose firmware glitch, bus error, or hostile slave produces a short block-read response. Add the missing length check to both call sites and surface a short response as -EIO.
CVE-2026-72168 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-02 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: maps: vmu-flash: fix fault in unaligned fixup Use kzalloc_obj() / kzalloc_objs() to allocate the memcard structs, instead of kmalloc_obj() / kmalloc_objs() to prevent access to uninitialized data. Fixes runtime error: Fault in unaligned fixup: 0000 [#1] at mtd_get_fact_prot_info.
CVE-2026-53242 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-02 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: PCM: Fix wait queue list corruption in snd_pcm_drain() on linked streams snd_pcm_drain() uses init_waitqueue_entry which does not clear entry.prev/next, and add_wait_queue with a conditional remove_wait_queue that is skipped when to_check is no longer in the group after concurrent UNLINK. The orphaned wait entry remains on the unlinked substream sleep queue. On the next drain iteration, add_wait_queue adds the entry to a new queue while still linked on the old one, corrupting both lists. A subsequent wake_up dereferences NULL at the func pointer (mapped from the spinlock at offset 0 of the misinterpreted wait_queue_head_t), causing a kernel panic. Replace init_waitqueue_entry/add_wait_queue/conditional remove_wait_queue with init_wait_entry/prepare_to_wait/ finish_wait. init_wait_entry clears prev/next via INIT_LIST_HEAD on each iteration and sets autoremove_wake_function which auto-removes the entry on wake-up. finish_wait safely handles both the already-removed and still-queued cases.
CVE-2026-80656 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hfsplus: Add a sanity check for btree node size Syzbot reported an uninit-value bug in [1] with a corrupted HFS+ image, during the file system mounting process, specifically while loading the catalog, a corrupted node_size value of 1 caused the rec_off argument passed to hfs_bnode_read_u16() (within hfs_bnode_find()) to be excessively large. Consequently, the function failed to return a valid value to initialize the off variable, triggering the bug [1]. Every node starts from BTree node descriptor: struct hfs_bnode_desc. So, the size of node cannot be lesser than that. However, technical specification declares that: "The node size (which is expressed in bytes) must be power of two, from 512 through 32,768, inclusive." Add a check for btree node size base on technical specification. CVE-2026-80645 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 8.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rapidio/tsi721: prevent a bad dereference in tsi721_db_dpc() With a list_for_each() loop, if we don't find the item we are looking for in the list, then the loop exits with the iterator, which is "dbell" in this loop, pointing to invalid memory. This code uses the "found" variable to determine if we have found the doorbell we are looking for or not. However, the problem that the "found" variable needs to be set to false at the start of each iteration, otherwise after the first correct doorbell, then everything is marked as found. Reset the "found" to false at the start of the iteration and move the variable inside the loop.
CVE-2026-80686 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: migrate_device: fix pte_pfn/pte_dirty called on non-present PTE pte_pfn() and pte_dirty() have undefined behaviour when called on a non-present PTE. In migrate_vma_collect_pmd(), these functions may be invoked on non-present entries (e.g., device-private entries), leading to potential crashes from pte_pfn() or incorrect dirty folio accounting from pte_dirty(). Fix both by guarding with pte_present() checks.
CVE-2026-79269 1 Google 1 Chrome 2026-08-31 4.3 Medium
Uninitialized resource in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to potentially bypass web origin policy via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
